Entering with an Aussie address. I visit Australia frequently and coming from a country with very little libraries my favourite place has to be the Melbourne Library! followed by the Carnegie Library.
(couldnt get the anonymous above to change!
Oh yes, libraries are wonderful places Mystica. Good luck in the draw.
I really like Cronulla Beach since it is so beautiful and refreshing.

Re: My favourite place
Good luck in the draw Margaret. There is something calming about beaches.
I grew up on Yorke Peninsula so I always feel the heart belongs to beaches and the country.
I suspect beaches are in the Australian psyche Ann-Marie. Good luck.
What a lovely idea! My favourite place in Australia is Melbourne. I love this city so much. But if I had to choose a more specific spot, I think it would be Coburg Lake Reserve, a park not far from where we live. It's right by the Hume Highway, just about, but as soon as you enter the park, it's peaceful and green and beautiful, with little bits of artwork and of course Merri Creek and the lake. We even get black swans here occasionally. It's very restful for the eyes.
(of course, if I'm really honest, my favourite place in Australia would probably be a bookshop - Readers Feast comes strongly to mind here. But this sort of locale is also rather dangerous for someone like me...)
I like Melbourne too Catherine, when it's not too hot. We get black swans sometimes on the lake near our place. Good luck.
My favourite place to be in Australia is at home. At present this is near Bunbury, Western Australia, but though I love to travel, there's always been no place like home.
You sound like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz Sally. Have to agree though. I like going away but like coming home.
I love the Central West of NSW - I am currently in Lithgow...the self-proclaimed "Gateway to the West" but I do love Bathurst, Orange, Blayney, Oberon etc etc.

Re: Central West Rocks!
I lived in Orange for a number of years Paul. Streets on a map is set in a fictional town in the Central West. Good luck in the draw.

Having never yet had the privilege of time in AU I am clueless to a fav place! It's all intriguing to me - especially having an ocean beach near your home =) awesome! and dreaming of that image...
TY for your generosity and an int'l option for this Canadian is lovely..
Have a HapPy AU Day!
It is indeed awesome living near beaches. I never dreamed it would happen. Good luck in the draw.

I think it would have to be Fremantle. - Marisa Wikramanayake, marisa.com.au
Thanks Marisa. I have never been over to WA. maybe one day. Good luck.
What a good idea. Hope you get lots of interest in your book.
My favourite place is where I was deported from in November, 2011, the Moora Moora Co-operative on Mt Toolebewong, east of Melbourne. One of the great things about this place is the air pollution in Melbourne: it gives us WONDERFUL sunsets.
You can see a view off the mountain as the header of my blog http://wp.me/P3Xihq-1
Sunsets are one of my favourite things Bob. Love sunrises too. Lovely view. Good Luck

Australia Day - Favourite Place
There's so much to love about Australia! I think I'll have to go with the spinifex and jump-up country around Winton and out to Mount Isa. Such a contrast of colours; azure blue sky, baked red soil, yellow tumbleweed and blue-greens of spinifex. It's painted on my memory and warms my heart.
Great giveaway, Dale.

DAle, what fun to participate in an Australia Day event. I think I've been gearing up for this without knowing it. I just finished reading Dick Frances' HOT MONEY whichis partly set at the Melbourne Cup and then I spent a week with my daughter-in-law who is a great tennis player watching the Australian Open, so I would have to say Melbourne would be my favorite place right now.
I have to say as far as cities go, my heart belongs to Sydney. but I really like Melbourne too. Good luck!
Wow, you don't make it easy, Dale. That is very hard but I love the beach and since we have such a fabulous coastline, there's so many places to choose from. We're very lucky.
Happy Australia Day!
We are indeed. A wonderful country to live in. Happy Australia Day to you too and good luck.

My favourite place in Australia is the Sunshine Coast, it's not as loud or brassy as the Gold Coast but it's just as beautiful, maybe more so as it's less crowded. Of course nearly every time I go there it's the "Rainy coast" but it's still a wonderful place to be.
Thanks for telling us of your favourite place. good luck in the draw.

My favorite place would be a spot i go to read a bit well when I get the chance. It's at the back of a small suburb called Warrandyte and its along the Yarra River, just very relaxing and serene.
Would love to win a couple of Streets on a map.
Nat H - Victoria
Hi Nat, Sounds idyllic. But any place to read is a good place. Good luck in the draw.
My favourite place is Australia is probably the whitsundays. Never before have I spent a more relaxing time just admiring the scenery that is so different from anywhere else I've been before.
